Decision Support Systems - Application Case 2

1.Capabilities of a wiki that are not available in email:

  • information sharing for users, freely update information
  • wiki allows to provide feedbacks from users
  • different ways of communication

2.Applications of wikis in finance and operations:

  • can improve the communications
  • provides status update for users
  • organize meeting agendas
  • external communications with clients
  • can act as a medium to collect resources

3.DrKW’s wiki increase employee productivity:
I think one of the main plans to increase productivity is by having the open forum discussion to create enhancement for employees. By having an open discussion employees can obtain knowledge as well as sharing them, and also with the availability of status update the employees can prepare for the next step a lot easier. Most of all wiki increase employees’ productivity because it stores many important information that can be obtained by users.

4.DrKW’s wiki help with foreign language and training:
As stated earlier wiki is a good source of information, a great way of helping users obtain knowledge. Hence the important informations inside the wiki itself that will provide the help of training. And also an open forum discussion is another great example of gaining knowledge. By discussing with different users, users can learn from many source of knowledge.
